"Christmas Ornaments: Authentic Victorian Designs" features fifteen reproduced Victorian designs to make your own old-fashioned Christmas tree decorations. Each example is an authentic reprint of a 1800s pattern provided by Godey’s Lady’s Book, a nineteenth century ladies’ magazine. Every image was scanned at a high resolution and published in PDF format as an ebook so you may print as many as you need for your holiday craft projects. |
|
Print the page of your choice on either white or color heavyweight card stock printer paper — color the design with markers or crayons. Next, a variety of trimmings can be used to embellish each ornament in the tradition of a truly Victorian Christmas — make them simple or very ornate. Use colorful glass beads, metallic ribbon, lace, gold and silver foil paper, tissue paper, fringe, feathers, tinsel, Victorian die cuts or scraps. You can find an endless variety of embellishments in the scrapbooking department of your local craft store. The original instructions provided by Godey’s Lady’s Book are also included as a historical reference. It is interesting to read about the innovative materials used in 1800s craft projects. |
