This lace is referred to as “chemical lace” which is machine embroidered on fabric, and then the background is removed to resemble needle lace. The bodice of the wedding gown is characterized by an 1830s style bertha and a deep lace yoke with a high collar. The sleeves are double tiered flounce sleeves with deep lace cuffs. The dress has a cream silk draped belt. The long trained skirt has a net underskirt with a ten inch flounce with three lace frills. The organdy underskirt features a ten inch fine-pleated flounce edged in lace. This wonderful Edwardian wedding dress highlights features seen from 1903 to 1905.
