This year’s holiday house tour was bigger and better than ever, offering two full days and nights of activities for all ages and interests. New this year were several private, historic community buildings open only to guests of the Yuletide Tour, including Schmucker Hall at the Lutheran Seminary, the Daniel Lady Farm, the Grand Army of the Republic Building and the Rev. Schmucker House on Seminary Ridge.

Yuletide Gettysburg began on Friday evening with an exclusive Historic Church Tour in downtown Gettysburg. On Saturday, visitors spent the day visiting holiday decorated inns and exclusive historic properties. Saturday night, guests could opt to dine with Santa at Boyd’s Bears, tour the historic Shriver House by candlelight, or view the live Nativity scene at the United Methodist Church. A candlelight tour of Christ Lutheran Church, complete with Christmas music, wrapped up the evening's events. Sunday afternoon continued the tour of several historic Bed and Breakfast's and historic community buildings from Noon until 5 pm.

Each inn was festive with decorations for the season. Period-dressed hosts were on hand to give a tour and brief history lesson about each property. This year’s tour also included a walk-through of many of the historic churches in Gettysburg; each stop a unique experience.

Tickets stamped at each venue were entered to win a Grand Prize Drawing, held Sunday at the tour's conclusion. Prizes included gift certificates from local merchants and one lucky Grand Prize Winner was awarded two tickets for an exclusive tour of the Cupola of Old Dorm at the Lutheran Seminary.

Advanced tickets for the Yuletide Gettysburg celebration are on sale for $20 per person, or two for $35. Tickets sold on the days of the tour will be $25 per person. All proceeds will benefit the historic non-profit partners participating in the tour. SPEND THE WEEKEND AT ONE OF OUR SPONSORING INNS AND RECEIVE TWO FREE TICKETS! For complete event details and to purchase tickets, please visit http://www.yuletidegettysburg.com/  or call (717) 334-1976.
