1/3 cup butter
2 cups molasses
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 cup milk
3 egg yolks
4 squares chocolate
3 cups barley flour
5-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 egg whites
1-1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Add the molasses to the melted butter. Add the milk, well beaten yolks, melted chocolate and vanilla. Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder and soda, and add gradually to the mixture. Mix thoroughly, and then fold in the stiffly beaten whites. Pour into a well-greased pan and bake. When cool, ice sugar free chocolate with Sugar Free Chocolate Icing and top with berries or serve plain with a dollop of sugar free Whipped Cream Frosting.
