Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
3 egg yolks
2 cups pastry flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
In making this coconut cake first cream butter and sugar. Add well-beaten egg yolks. Add coconut and vanilla. Mix all well. Add flour, in which baking powder, salt and cocoa has been sifted, and milk, alternately. Last, fold in stiffly beaten whites of eggs. Turn into well-buttered and floured layer cake pans, or loaf cake pan. Frost this great coconut cake with coconut butter icing.
