   The Van Rensselaer family was a prominent 18th and 19th century family in New York.  This antique white muslin hand embroidered dress was worn by a Harriet Van Rensselaer. Also worn were the silk satin flat shoes with ribbon ties and the cotton embroidered bonnet with ruffles and ties edged with lace.
