Century Boys' Games

This
colorful lithograph of boys' on a playground was published by
Pastime Publishing Company in December 1881 as a "pastime for
little fingers." The many activities of
young 19th century boys are portrayed; the favorite pastimes include
shooting marbles, various ball games with sticks and bats, bowling,
trundling hoops, playing soldier, and leapfrog. The
full color page of the playground scene includes cutout figures of boys designed to be pasted on the large playground picture. |
