Bed-and-Breakfast
or B & B is a private residence with several rooms set aside
for overnight guests whose paid accommodations include a morning
meal. This custom and the expression "bed-and-breakfast and
the custom of offering rooms originated in England and
became widespread in the early 1900s.
Atlantic
City developed from Dr. J. Pitney's idea to make the New
Jersey shore into a health resort. Development began in
1850. Atlantic City, with its beautiful beaches &
luxurious hotels, soon became a popular summer resort &
winter health spa.
History
of the Fashionable Bathing Suit
It was
in the early 1800s that people began to flock to the beaches
for seaside amusement. With the introduction of railroads,
ocean-side beaches became even more popular for sunny
recreations. Along with this new outdoor pastime came the
need for a stylish garment for the privileged lady of
fashion.
