Ice Skates Ad from 1860

Ice Skates Ad

In 1860, W.W. Knight Son & Co. printed an advertising or window display card to showcase their stock of "skates of all kinds." The chromolithograph featured a winter scene with many people ice skating, possibly on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, and a bridge spanning the river in the background. The store was located at 509 Commerce St. between 5th & 6th & Market and Arch Streets in Philadelphia.
